We are excited to announce the LGBTQ+ Fellowships for the 2023-2024 academic year, sponsored by the LaGuardia and Wagner Archives. These year-long fellowships, which pay $2,000, present a unique opportunity for LaGuardia Community College students to delve into the rich LGBTQ+ collections within the Archives.
Our diverse range of fellowships includes four projects:
• The Mapping Fellowship focuses on researching and photographing LGBTQ+ historical and cultural sites across the landscape of New York City.
• The Education Fellowship empowers students to create a high school curriculum shedding light on the significance of the 1986 Gay Rights Bill and its impact on society.
• The Film Fellowship offers the chance to produce a documentary film chronicling the colorful and impactful history of the Queens Pride Parade.
• The History Fellowship delves into the experiences and narratives of women who have played pivotal roles in local governance.
